Mark-Taylor Gives To Those Who Have, and Have Not
Free Rent for a Year for a Local Family In Need

Scottsdale, Ariz.(December 1, 2006) – Apartment development and management company Mark-Taylor Residential is getting into the holiday spirit in a big way. Those who sign a lease in December will enjoy free rent specials and Westcor gift cards. And one very lucky, and very deserving local family will live rent free for one year in one of Mark-Taylor’s newest communities, San Hacienda in Chandler.

The “Mark-Taylor Holiday Gift Giving Celebration” is designed to get apartment seekers moved in to start the New Year off right, offering gift cards valued up to $250, and rent specials of up to 6 weeks free. Mark-Taylor is encouraging people to take advantage of these move-in specials because it’s highly rare for the company to discount its high-end product. The gift cards, serving as a nice little “signing bonus”, vary in value by property. The company has 20 prominent communities located around the Valley.

Aside from the move-in specials, the true meaning of the holidays will hit home in an emotionally charged story about a needy family who will soon learn that they’ll live in the lap of luxury, for free, for an entire year. The family will be chosen from the clientele served by Save the Family, a non-profit organization based in Mesa, which provides homeless families with children not only housing but also an array of supportive services focused on maximizing the family’s opportunity to achieve and maintain long-term self-sufficiency.  The lucky family will learn of their good fortune on December 12.

“In reflecting upon our business and the community needs, we knew we could make a difference for someone,” said Dale Phillips, President of Mark-Taylor Residential. “There is no better feeling in the world than to reach out to a family in need and know you are helping them in their process to get back on track,” he noted.

Save the Family’s mission is to help children by treating the whole family; to assist the parents by helping them break the negative cycle of behavior leading to poverty and homelessness; and, to benefit the community, they help homeless families transition to emotionally stable and economically self-sufficient members of society. “We are thrilled Mark-Taylor Residential is reaching out to one of our special families working so hard to transition into a sound and productive life,” said Janice Parker, Executive Director of Save the Family.

Mark-Taylor is donating one two-bedroom apartment at its San Hacienda community in Chandler. This apartment features built-in washer and dryer, stove, oven, microwave, and ceiling fans.  The selected family will take pleasure in the community amenities including a lagoon-style pool, whirlpool spa, and poolside cabana. There is also a “tot lot" with children's play equipment, a 24-hour fitness center featuring a wireless entertainment system, free weights and individual workout stations. And for a memorable get-together, the family will enjoy the clubhouse with its cozy fireplace, TV, kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beautifully landscaped courtyard.

Mark-Taylor Residential is one of the state’s largest developers and managers of apartment communities. The majority of the company’s business is managing apartment communities for third party owners. The award-winning company currently owns and/or manages over 5000 units in the Valley of the Sun.
